Adelle May
for being the only primary passer in serve receive to be over the 1.60 we deem minimum at 2.1 (21/10). She led the the team in assists with 21. Her solo block (of one of MaKayla's 16 out-of-system passes) of an overpass at 24-23 in the 4th set was the play of the match.
Our Servers
We served pretty well. J. Seward served poorly to zone (.266) but had a 3:1 ace to error ratio. J. Herron served .590 to zone (14-1/22) and was 2:1. M. McMains was .545 to zone but only 1:1. M. Viney was okay to zone .428 and 2:1. A. May was .500 to zone and 2:1
MaKayla McMains
for hitting .306 (22-7/25), leading us in kills with 22 (as many of the rest of the team combined), and leading the team in points with 26. We do not win without her offense. However, once again, we almost lost because of her poor passing. After being aced 8 times by Rossville, she was aced 6 times by Western. She may have set another school record in serve receive with 16 out-of-system passes.
The Jr. Varsity
for playing a third outstanding match and winning! We especially need to recognize G. Ayres for her efforts serving (7-0/21= .333 to zone with four aces & no errors). While .333 to zone is not the greatest, Grace would not miss and added four aces. In addition, she passed a solid 1.57 (10/5). We also want to recognize D. Myers and M. Pontigo for their efforts in serve receive. Daizee was 1.63 (13/8) and Marissa led the team with an impressive 2.5 (10/4). A. Harness led us in hitting with a team high 4 kills (4-1/13) while M. O'Brien led us in hitting percent with a perfect one thousand (2-0/2).
