At Oak Hill, we had a ton of shared athletes with basketball and swimming, who wanted mornings. From the girl's point of view, it was best for volleyball to be in the evening.
From a personal point of view, fifteen years ago both Jared and Claire, our children, were huge in 4H. We had chores in the morning and worked extra with "problem sheep" in the morning. Also, it took 40 minutes to get to Oak Hill. If we wanted to start at 7:30, I had to be out the door at 6:25. Another day of looking into the sun, which added up over the years. Also, with daylight saving time, I am rarely in bed before midnight and sleep by 12:30 or 1:00. To be honest, evenings worked best for me.
Fifteen years ago there was no such thing as a scrimmage with other schools. Everything we did was internal. We went two nights a week and the one morning that was available, Friday. June and July was the same story year after year.
