Here are some articles/film clips on skills that we teach at Carroll.
Some of these touch on skills, techniques, or philosophies we teach in
whole. Others have key parts we refer to in teaching.

VIDEO:
#1A.) Outside Attacks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3uW3GicKoQ&list=UUCZRPN6Zw5qItHUyXX8BwhQ&index=1&feature=plpp_video
(U. of Southern California)
I about fell out of my seat when I viewed this. This is everything we teach. Everything. Even using our cue words. Just a fantastic film clip for our hitters. This is the best video I ever found because it matches what we teach so closely. Wish I could find one like this for passing, setting, or serving. If you want to be a left side hitter for Carroll, watch this tape!
1. Serve Receive Zone Responsibility
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=wQwMSla6pNo (U. of Utah)
2. Non-Dominate Hand Development for Setters
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHd11c2-36o&feature=related (U. of Wisconsin)
3. Jump Float Serve: toss & hand position
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=2UP7gPga8Ro&NR=1 (U.
of Florida) Strongly represents what we teach. Listen at the :40 mark. How many times do we say, "in front of the shoulder"?
4. Swing Block
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCEosTAu3qc&feature=player_embedded (U. of Kentucky)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnvM2UNOZDA&feature=relmfu (U. of Utah) Very simple.
5. Middle Attacks - quick sets
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHPcO0rEgRw&feature=player_embedded#! (U. of Wisconsin)
6. Floor Skills - the Pancake
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyRWkSZEZBU&feature=player_detailpage (U. of Utah)
7. Floor Skills - the Shoulder Roll http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g34mcY9vs8k
Try to look past the old black & white footage at the start and that it is in Chinese. This is a great video of a shoulder
roll. Notice the 1st step is always a shuffle.
8. Floor Skills - the Penguin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jesfLVrlVvw
Look past the poor video quality and that it is in Portuguese. Advance to :29 mark to watch slow-motion of a penguin dive.
9. Attack Mechanics - 2012 http://vimeo.com/avca/review/59935977/c6720612af
There are some things here that are very valuable to see. Some items, the over rotation by LS hitters, we do not
teach; however, the good outweighs the bad .
10. Shuffle Footwork & forearm passing - http://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=9wB0kdJvZJE&feature=youtu.be&utm_source=VolleyBiz+June+2013&utm_campaign=June+2013+VolleyBiz&utm_medium=email
Short video on training exercise for movement/floor skills & ball control, all things we are trying to improve upon.
